Men’s Lacrosse Suffers Senior Day Defeat

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on Tuesday afternoon, honoring their three senior student-athletes before falling, 25-2, to the University of Saint Joseph in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at Alumni Field.

Senior Jon Parra-Tobey (New London, Conn.) and freshman Nathan Mahoney (Stonington, Conn.) each scored for the Mariners. Parra-Tobey's goal came with 3:58 remaining in the second quarter and put an end to a 13-0 run for the Blue Jays.

Dominic Oakes paced the Blue Jays with six points off two goals and a career-high four assists, while JD DeNicola-Rakvin netted a career-best four goals.

Sophomore Cameron Haefs (Cary, Ill.) turned back a collegiate career-high 25 saves, while senior Keeano Gonzalez (New London, Conn.) scooped up a game-high 13 ground balls and caused four turnovers.

Noah Isleib started in cage for the Blue Jays and turned away two shots.

The Mariners (0-5, 0-5 NAC) conclude their season at home on Thursday, April 17, with a non-conference game against La Roche University.
