Mitchell College Men's Soccer Picks Up First Win of the Season

NEW LONDON, CONN - Joel Blancaflor (So. from Haddam, Conn.) had one goal on three shots for the Mariners while Jamie Serrano (So. from Clinton,Conn.) also had four shots with one goal.  Goalie Andrew Hall (Fr. from Natick, Mass.) allowed just one goal with five saves on six shots.  Chipping in for the Mariners was Howard Johnson (Fr. from New London, Conn.) and Josh Griffo (Sr. from Higganum, Conn.) had five shots a piece.  James Gleason (Fr. From Woodstock, Conn.) ended with two shots and one assist.  Coach Dean Roberts "we did not play one of better games but we found a way to win. Jamie Serrano was tremendous of the bench for Mitchell and game in to score the game winning goal."

Regis College's Ricky Guyette (So. From Boston, Mass.) had one goal on two shots for Regis.  Goalie Andrew LaMacchia ended the day with 13 saves on 26 shots and allowed two goals.  Also for Regis Josh Fidalago ( Fr. from Boston, Mass.) chipped in with two shots.  Ricky Urdanetta (So. Boston, Mass.) picked up a yellow card.

Mitchell College Mariners are 1-1 for the season and are on the road on Tuesday to face Bridgewater State College.  The Mariners open NECC conference play on September 20th verses Elms College.
