Men's Soccer Receives #6 Seed in NECC Championship


ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Southern Vermont College earned the top seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Championship. The Mountaineers (11-4-1 overall, 6-0-1 NECC) earned a first round bye along with second seed Daniel Webster College (9-5-2 overall, 5-1-1 NECC).

Lesley University (12-4-1, 6-2 NECC) earned the third seed and will host sixth-seeded Mitchell College (5-10-1, 3-5 NECC) in a first round game on Wednesday, November 2nd. The winner will advance to play a semifinal contest at Daniel Webster College on Friday, November 4th.
Fifth seed Elms College (6-10, 3-4 NECC) will travel to fourth seed Newbury College (6-10-1, 5-2-1 NECC) for a first round matchup on Wednesday. The winner will meet top seed Southern Vermont on Friday in a semifinal game.

The top six teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

First round games will be played on Wednesday, November 2 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals held at the higher seed on Friday, November 4. Semifinal winners will meet Sunday, November 6 at the highest remaining seed.
