Sinani Earns ECAC Weekly Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Ramazan Sinani was named Corvias ECAC Division III Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the New England region, as announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference late Wednesday evening.

Sinani shares the honor with Kevin Parma, a senior defender at Western New England University.

Sinani, a goalkeeper, recorded a pair of shutouts last week to help the Mariners to consecutive 1-0 victories over Albertus Magnus College and Elms College. He made 10 saves in the win at Albertus and followed that up with nine in NECC play against Elms, including a diving stop in the 75th minute to keep the match scoreless.

In two conference games this season Sinani has allowed only one goal in over 188 minutes. He's also made 14 saves against NECC opponents and sports a save percentage of .933.

Mitchell (4-6-0 overall, 2-0-0 NECC) will next host Southern Vermont College on Saturday, October 5 at 3 p.m.
