Three Men's Soccer Players Earn NECC All-Conference Honors


ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Three Mitchell College men's soccer players were recognized with all-conference honors by the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday.

Senior Frank Williams was one of four forwards who earned a spot on the all-conference first team. Senior midfielder Taylor Surette was an all-conference second team selection while senior goalkeeper Ramazan Sinani garnered all-conference honorable mention status. All honors were determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches.

Williams, an all-conference second team pick in both 2012 and 2013, closed out his collegiate career on a strong note. He started and played in all 20 games this season and led Mitchell in scoring with a career-high seven goals and one assist for 15 points. He also finished with three game-winning tallies in 2014 to lead the Mariners. 

In four seasons Williams played in 68 games and made 66 starts. He finished his career with 23 goals and seven assists for 53 points, and 11 of his goals went down as game winners.

Surette received all-conference recognition for the first time in his career. The four-year starter recorded a career-high 12 points on four goals and four assists, with the majority of his production coming in conference action. He led the Mariners in league play with three goals and two assists that included game-winning goals against Newbury College and Becker College. 

In four seasons Surette played in 69 games and made 61 starts. He finished his career with six goals and nine assists for 21 points.

Sinani made 19 starts between the posts for Mitchell and produced a career-high six shutouts in his final season. In seven NECC contests he racked up 29 saves and four clean sheets and sported a goals-against average of 1.43. It marked the third time in his career that Sinani received all-conference honorable mention honors.

In four seasons Sinani played in 56 games and made 52 starts. He finished his career with 22 wins that included 12 shutouts, and he recorded a total of 334 saves with a 1.89 goals-against average.

Mitchell ended the season with an overall record of 9-10-1 and went 5-2-0 in NECC play. The Mariners qualified for the 2014 NECC Men's Soccer Championship but were eliminated by Regis College in the first round.
