Barrales Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Cristian Barrales was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's soccer, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Barrales scored a pair of goals last week as Mitchell picked up a win and a tie in non-conference action. He tallied both goals in a win over Worcester State University, including the game-winning score in the second overtime period. His first goal, which came in the opening four minutes of the contest, was the first of his collegiate career.

Barrales has played in four games and made two starts this season. He currently leads the team in scoring with two goals for four points.

Mitchell (1-2-1 overall) will next host Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, September 18 at 4 p.m.
