USJ Pulls Away Late vs. Men's Soccer

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Mitchell College men's soccer team lost by a 4-0 final at the University of Saint Joseph on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at the USJ Soccer Field.

The Blue Jays (7-2-0 overall) struck in the closing seconds of the first half to get on the scoreboard, and then later tacked on three goals in the game's final 15 minutes. Daniel Castro paced USJ with a goal and an assist while goalkeeper Joseph Boland made one save to record the shutout.

Mitchell was outshot by an 18-6 margin in the contest, with Julian Cortez providing the lone shot on goal. Goalkeeper Seth Strader finished with four saves.

Mitchell (1-7-1 overall) returns to conference play at Eastern Nazarene College on Saturday, October 5 at 7 p.m.
