Men's Soccer Stumbles at Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's soccer team ended the regular season on a sour note, falling 2-0 to Dean College on Wednesday afternoon in a New England Collegiate Conference showdown at Lippert Field.

The loss snapped Mitchell's three-game winning streak but didn't dramatically alter the conference standings. The Mariners (3-3 NECC) dropped into a tie for fourth place with Elms College but own the head-to-head tiebreaker thanks to a 4-2 win over the Blazers earlier this month. A complete bracket for the 2019 NECC Men's Soccer Championship, which kicks off this weekend, will be released by the league later tonight.

Liam Crowley netted a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs to their second conference win of the season. He tallied in the 11th and 55th minutes to increase his season goal total to three.

Mitchell outshot Dean by a 24-5 margin but failed to put anything past Dean keeper Bryce Antoch, who finished with nine saves to notch the clean sheet.
