Men’s Soccer Falters at Regis

WESTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's soccer team suffered a 5-0 setback on Saturday afternoon against Regis College at Regis Stadium.

Jacob Freitas recorded two goals for Regis, while Alfred Bresnahan and Jeremiah Frias each found the back of the net for the Pride, who improved their GNAC record to 6-8.

After playing to a scoreless draw for the majority of the first half, the Pride tallied a pair of goals in the five minutes before intermission. Regis would tack on three more goals in the final 45 minutes, holding the Mariners to just six total shots.

Junior Dylan Lucey (Lebanon, Conn.) paced Mitchell with five shots, two of them on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Jesse Jenkins (Windsor, Conn.) finished with a season-high 12 saves.

The Mariners (2-10-3, 2-9-2 GNAC) will close their regular season at home on Tuesday, October 24th, against Saint Joseph's College (ME). The Prides (6-9, 6-8 GNAC) conclude their regular season with a non-conference tilt against Salem State on Tuesday, October 24th.
