Men's XC Runs at NCAA Regionals


WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's cross country team placed 44th overall at the 2010 NCAA New England Regional Championship on Saturday morning at Mt. Greylock High School.

Mitchell, which was competing at the NCAA event for the first time ever, finished ahead of five teams in the final standings. MIT won the team championship with a total of 93 points while Williams College finished as runner-up with 101 points.

Senior John Hoffman paced the Mariners and finished 208th overall in a time of 30:01.8. Rounding out the times for Mitchell were freshman Drew Castagna (30:52.7), junior Brian Ziminsky (35:13.0), sophomore Zach Hoch (35:26.9), sophomore Vernon Wilson (36:11.7), freshman Dustin Stiles (37:09.4) and junior Joshua Charles (37:31.5).

The NCAA Regionals were the final event of the fall for the Mariners.
