XC Races at Wesleyan Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams ran at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday morning at Long Lane Farm.

Bowdoin College placed first of the 10 teams in the men's race while Wesleyan was tops in the 11-team women's field. The Bowdoin men placed the first four runners across the finish line, led by Nicholas Saba. The women's winner was Wesleyan's Julia Mark.

Mitchell's men's team placed 10th and was led by junior Drew Castagna, who covered the 8k course in a time of 30:57.70 to finish 69th overall. The women's team placed 11th and was paced by freshman Sheila Newcity, who ran the 5k course in 23:52.80 and finished 104th overall.

Mitchell will next compete at the Tri-State Invitational on Saturday, September 29 at the CCRI Flanagan Campus.
