XC Runs at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Mitchell College cross country teams both finished as runner-up in a head-to-head race against Wesleyan University on Friday afternoon at Long Lane Farms.

The Wesleyan men and women each posted identical scores of 15 points, while Mitchell's squads each earned 50.

Sophomore Samuel Williams led the Mitchell men for the second straight meet. He covered the four-mile course in a time of 26:08.40, with senior Adam Oshrain crossing the line next for the Mariners in 26:47.37.

On the women's side, junior Sheilah Newcity paced the Mariners with a time of 24:35.07 over the three-mile course. Senior Breanna Poirier was right on Newcity's heels, clocking in at 24:38.55.

Mitchell will next compete at the CCRI Tri-State Invite on October 4 at 11 a.m.
