XC Races at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams raced at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.

The event started with the women's race, and the Mariners beat out three other teams to finish 41st overall. Freshman Ashleigh Beauford led Mitchell with a time of 23:30.39 over the 5k course and finished 275th overall. Rounding out the top five for the Mariners were Kate Mulloy (24:09.50), Breanna Poirier (24:19.54), Casey Geary (24:39.76) and Sheilah Newcity (25:26.17).

On the men's side, Mitchell finished 37th overall and was led by sophomore Samuel Williams. He crossed the finish line in a time of 30:47.01 and finished 242nd overall. Also scoring for the Mariners were Adam Oshrain (32:57.79), Nick Lebron (34:56.53), Chris McKeon (37:30.98) and Spencer Farrah (41:19.14).

Mitchell will next compete at the Saints Invitational on Friday, October 17 at Franklin Park in Boston.
