Cross Country Runs at Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Wesleyan Invitational on Friday afternoon at Long Lane Farm.

The women's team placed fourth out of four teams while the men's team did not receive a team score. Wesleyan took the top five individual spots in each race and finished first as a team with 15 points in each contest.   

Caelin Hetherman paced the Mariners and finished 15th overall with a time of 23:54. Kate McCormack (25:06), Francesca Pinard (26:11), Julia Shaughnessy (26:56) and Casey Geary (30:04) rounded out the scoring for Mitchell, which finished with 91 points as a squad.

In the men's race, four Mitchell competitors were disqualified for running off the course. As a result, the Mariners did not receive a team score.

Mitchell will next run at the Elms Invitational on Saturday, September 26 at 11 a.m.
