XC Competes at James Earley Invitational


WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday morning at Stanley Park.

The Mitchell men finished 40th out of 41 teams while the women's squad did not record a team score. The event features one of the largest and most competitive fields that the Mariners face all season.

Freshman David Still clocked in with a time of 30:19.63 to lead the Mariners in the men's 8K race. Junior Nick Lebron (33:43.32), senior Axel De Jesus (36:13.16), junior Blessing Keaton (38:37.33) and sophomore Evan Kristal (44:36.49) all scored for Mitchell.

On the women's side, sophomore Francesca Pinard covered the women's 6K course in a time of 28:39.30. Classmate Caelin Hetherman (30:00.21) and freshman Victoria Chalko (39:35.47) also crossed the finish line for the Mariners.

Mitchell will next run at the Saints Invitational on Friday, October 14 at 4 p.m.
