XC Tunes Up at Saints Invitational

BOSTON - The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams raced at the Saints Invitational on Friday afternoon at Franklin Park.

The men's team finished 19th out of 23 squads while the women placed 17th out of 18 teams. 

On the men's side, freshman David Still once again paced the Mariners with a time of 30:23 to finish 92nd overall. George Sykes, Nick Lebron, Axel De Jesus and Blessing Keaton also scored for the Mariners, who finished with 547 points as a team.

Sophomore Francesca Pinard recorded a season-best 5K time of 23:59 to place 86th overall to lead the Mitchell women. Kate McCormack, Caelin Hetherman, Victoria Chalko and Rosina Facciponte also contributed to Mitchell's team score of 449 points.

The event served as the final tune-up before the 2016 NECC Championship, which will be held on October 29 at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA.
