XC's Still Named NECC Runner of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College sophomore David Still was named New England Collegiate Conference Runner of the Week for the sport of men's cross country, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Still took first place in the Mitchell College Invitational last week, besting a field of 33 runners in a men's race that featured competitors from six schools. His 5K time of 17:14 broke the course record by over a minute, and gave him his first career individual title.

It marked the first time this season and the second time in his career that Still has earned the weekly honor. As a rookie in 2016 he garnered all-conference first team distinction by finishing fourth overall at the NECC Championship.

Mitchell will next run at the Blazer Classic Invitational on Saturday, September 23 at Chicopee State Park at 11 a.m.
