XC Places Seventh at Blazer Invitational

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams each finished seventh at the Blazer Invitational on Saturday morning at Chicopee Memorial State Park.

David Still paced the Mariners and notched a top-10 finish in the field of 61 runners, covering the 8k course in a time of 31:47. Nick Lebron (39:03), Blessing Keaton (40:10), Ajibola Majoyeogbe (44:13) and Evan Kristal (47:55) rounded out the scoring for Mitchell, which finished with a team score of 176.

Kate McCormack led Mitchell in the women's 6k race with a time of 32:36 to finish 44th in the field of 64. Caelin Hetherman (34:50), Francesca Pinard (37:19), Victoria Chalko (38:26) and Kaitlyn Polcaro (40:22) rounded out the top five for the Mariners, who finished with a team total of 204.

Mitchell will next run at the CCRI Tri-State Open on Saturday, September 30 at the CCRI Flanagan campus in Lincoln, R.I.
