XC's Garceau Earns NECC Rookie of the Week Honors

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Mark Garceau was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's cross country, as released by the league on Monday morning.

Garceau turned in a strong outing at the season opening Mitchell Invitational last week, an event that featured five NECC schools. He finished 12th overall in a field of 51 runners, turning in a time of 17:54.0 for the 5K course. His time was the fastest of any conference rookie in the field.

Garceau is the first Mitchell runner to earn NECC rookie honors since 2016.

Mitchell will next compete at the Blazers Classic Invitational on Saturday, September 22.
