Mariners Compete in James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Westfield, Massachusetts on Saturday morning to compete in the 26th James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park. The Invitational consisted of a men's 8,000 meter race (8K) and a women's 5,000 meter race (5K).

Mitchell freshman Albert Franck finished with a team-best time of 30:31 in the 8K Men's Blue Race, with an average mile time of 6:08. Sophomore Collin Rider was the second Mariner to finish, completing the race in 32:46, good for an average mile time of 6:35. 

Liam Rob (35:20), Timothy O'Hayre (36:41), and Glendon Dawson (38:25) rounded out the participants for Mitchell.

Senior Katelyn Lipsky was the top female finisher for Mitchell, completing the 5K Women's Blue Race in a time of 30:31. Freshman Alana Chapelle also raced for Mitchell, crossing the finish line in 34:57.

Both Mariner cross country teams will race next on Saturday, October 15 at Conn College.
