Cross Country 2023 Schedule Announced

NEW LONDON, Conn. –The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country teams recently announced their schedules for the upcoming fall 2023 season.

It will be a season full of positive transition for the Mariners, who not only will enter their first season as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), but will have a new head coach running the program. Tim Hoch, who will make his collegiate head coaching debut with the Mariners, was a runner at both the high school and collegiate level, having spent the 2013 season running cross country as a student-athlete at Mitchell College.

The Mariners found success in their final season as a member of the NECC, capturing the first ever men's conference title in program history. Now a member of the GNAC, Mitchell will look to build upon that success with both the men's and women's squads. The Mariners will make their season debut on Saturday, September 9, when they travel to Middletown, Connecticut for the Cardinal Invite hosted by Wesleyan University. The following Saturday they will compete in the Blazer Classic, hosted by fellow GNAC member Elms College. On Friday, September 22, Mitchell will host their lone home meet of the year at Stenger Farm Park in Waterford, Connecticut, before venturing to Hampshire College for the Founding Tree 6k/8k on September 30.

The month of October will feature two more meets before the GNAC Championship, the first being the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State on Saturday, October 7, while the second one will keep the Mariners local, as they will compete in the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut.

Mitchell cross country will conclude their season on Saturday, October 28, at the GNAC Championship, which will be hosted by Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine.
