Cross Country Races in Founding Tree Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's and women's cross country team returned to action on Saturday morning, competing in the Founding Tree Invitational hosted by Hampshire College.

Freshman Jonathan Hecker paced the men's squad, finishing the 8k race in 32:38.16, good for 39th overall. Tim O'Hayre was the second to cross the finish line for the Mariners with a time of 39:35.78. Gerjuan Tyus (51:39.25) and CJ Bradley (51:41.05) rounded out the finishers for Mitchell, who placed 10th as a team.

Freshman Inonda Peterson was the top finisher in the women's 6k race, placing 30th overall with a time of 30:52.9. Senior Katelyn Lipsky was the next Mariner to cross the finish line, completing the race in 35:22.86. Shelly Ramos (38:20.30), Allie Romano (48:28.27), and Anna Kate Kochansky (57:20.59) rounded out the pack for the Mitchell women, who placed 10th overall.

The Mariners will return to action on Saturday, October 7th, when they run in the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State.
