Mitchell Sailing Begins 2010 Season

The Mitchell College sailing squad has competed in two regattas to start its 2010 season.

At the Roger Williams Invitational last week Mitchell finished 14th out of 15 teams. Sailing in A-Division were Alex Hering and Lindsay Ware, and sailing in B-Division were Brendan Griffiths and Kim Parker. Brown Univeristy won the Roger Williams Invitational. 

On Sunday, Mitchell sailed at the Donaghy Trophy hosted by the University of Connecticut. Sailing for the Mariners--who finished seventh out of seven teams--were Griffiths, Ware and Lauren Chiaramonte. Brown once again took the top spot followed by Tufts and Coast Guard. 

Mitchell will next host the inaugural Thames River Regatta on Thursday, September 30. The event marks the first regatta hosted by Mitchell in many years. Competing in the regatta will be teams from Connecticut College, UConn and Coast Guard.
