Sailing Finishes Fourth at Providence College Invite

WARWICK, R.I. - The Mitchell College sailing team finished in fourth place at the Providence College Invite on Sunday at the Rhode Island Yacht Club.

Brown University won the event, which featured nine schools, while Providence and Tufts University rounded out the top three. Mitchell and Northeastern were tied right behind, though the Mariners were awarded fourth due to having more first-place finishes.

Brendan Griffiths and Deborah Lee sailed in A-Division and finished sixth overall, one point of out fifth place. Alex Hering, Alexandra Bollella and Chelsea Abbenante posted a second-place finish overall in B-Division, only two points out of first place. The duo of Hering and Abbenante also recorded a pair of first-place finishes in the final two races of the day to help overtake Northeastern for fourth place.
