Mariners Finish Third at Thames River Cup

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Connecticut College finished in first place at the 4th Annual Thames River Cup on Wednesday afternoon at the Mitchell College Sailing Center.

Five local teams came together for the mid-week regatta, which featured seven races in a shifty and southwesterly wind. Conn eked out a victory over the Coast Guard while Mitchell finished third and UConn and Johnson & Wales rounded out the top five.

After the event, all the teams enjoyed a great meal provided by the school and the Mitchell College Sailing parents.
