KANSAS CITY, MO -- Three Mitchell softball players were recently recognized as members of the 2008 All-Independent Softball Teams. The Association of Division III Independents announced their selections from their 21 member organizations recently.

MITCHELL CLOSES REGULAR SEASON WITH SPLIT, BORDONARO HITS ANOTHER HOMER

Bordonaro Homers In Split With College of Saint Elizabeth's NEW LONDON, CT -- Mitchell Softball closed out their regular season with a split with fellow Association of Division III Indpendent College of St. Elizabeth. Mitchell won game one 9-7 and CSE the shortened game two, 11-6 (called after six due to darkness). Mitchell ends the regular season at 13-18 and 4-4 in AD3I play, St. Elizabeth's leaves at 11-14.

NEW LONDON, CT -- Mitchell College hosted an electrifying game with Albertus Magnus College on Monday, April 14 on the Alumni Softball Field at the Yarnall Athletic Center. The two teams matched each other run for run in regulation with eight innings of play before Mitchell took the win 8-4. This brings Mitchell to 9-13 and drops Albertus Magnus to 2-17.
ROY NAMED AD3I PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Junior short stop Liz Roy (Griswold,CT) has been named the Association of Division III Independents Payer of The Week. Roy, who leads Mitchell in Batting Avg. (.471), Slugging Pct. (.765), On Base Percentage (.519), Hits (32), RBI (32), Triples (7), and Total Bases (52), has been a two – time All-Independent selection (’06 & ’07). On her week, Roy hit a staggering .526 with eight RBI’s with four triples and a double.

Mitchell College hosted future New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Wheelock College Saturday afternoon. The Pequots won game one 5-2 after seven rounds and took game two after six innings, 12-3. The win moves Mitchell to 8-13 and drops Wheelock to 4-12 this season.
Softball Sweeps Johnson State College For Third Straight Win

Mitchell College took both games in Saturday's double header against Johnson State College in five innings apiece. The Pequots won 8-0 and 11-2 over the Badgers. Snow and bad weather has made this the first outing for Johnson State this season. The wins put Mitchell at 4-8 this season.
