KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Mitchell College softball team dropped a pair of contests at the Rebel Spring Games on Saturday, falling 17-0 to Kean University and 22-1 to Central (Iowa) College.
Mitchell's lone run of the day came in the fourth inning against Central. Danielle Autieri reached base with a two-out single, moved to second on a base hit by Shannon O'Neil and later scored on a fielding error.
Autieri had the lone hit for the Mariners in the early game against Kean. Starting pitcher Kiele Eichlin struck out six for the Cougars, who supplied her with 17 runs on 20 hits over four innings.
The Mariners, who dropped to 1-3 on the season, return to action at the Rebel Games on Tuesday, March 8 against Rhodes College and Illinois College.
