CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Mitchell College softball team dropped a 9-0 decision in five innings to Ohio Northern University on Sunday morning at The Spring Games.
ONU's Kaitlin Surdej tossed a no-hitter and struck out nine while walking only one. She walked the first batter of the game and then retired 15 straight to earn her first win of the season.
Mitchell starter Taylor Duchesneau gave up nine runs on 14 hits and struck out three.
The Mariners (0-3 overall) will next face Penn State New Kensington on Tuesday, March 7 at 9 a.m.
