Lipsky Named NECC Pitcher of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Katelyn Lipsky (Plantsville, Conn.) was named New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for the sport of softball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

Lipsky made a pair of starts for the Mariners, who went 2-2 on the week competing in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Florida. One of those starts was a dominating performance against SUNY Delhi, in which she tossed a five inning complete game, allowing just two hits while striking out 10 as Mitchell picked up their first victory of the season. 

Mitchell (2-2 overall) will return to action on Tuesday, March 14, when they play a doubleheader in Naples, Fla. First pitch in the opening game against Crown College is scheduled for 9:00 am, and the second game against Rutgers University–Newark is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
