Reynolds Named NECC Pitcher of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College sophomore Emily Reynolds (Somers, Conn.) was named New England Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week for the sport of softball, as announced by the league on Monday.

Reynolds earned the honor for the first time this season. She is the third Mitchell player to nab the award this season, joining Katelyn Lipsky (March 13, March 20). Reynolds got the start in the second game of a doubleheader sweep against Norwich University on Sunday, March 26, and was dominant across three innings of work, allowing no hits or earned runs as Mitchell went on to win the game 13-2.

In six appearances in the circle this season, Reynolds has thrown 34.1 innings and sports a 3-2 record with a 2.24 ERA. She has 19 strikeouts to just six walks, and has three complete game performances under her belt. Her 2.24 ERA ranks second in the conference behind only her teammate, Katelyn Lipsky.

Mitchell (9-3 overall) will next travel to Nichols College for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, March 29.
