MITCHELL WOMEN GET FIRST WIN OF SEASON AGAINST ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE

NEW LONDON, CONN.- Mitchell College earned their first victory of the young season Wednesday night against St. Joseph College, 69-49, at the Yarnall Athletic Center.  Mitchell is now 1-5 on the season.  St. Joseph (CT) is now 2-4 with the loss.

Leading the way for the Pequots were two double-doubles from Junior Julie Graham (Waterbury, CT) and Sophomore Jen Iglesias (Waterbury, CT).  Graham tallied a team-high 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  Iglesias chipped in 13 points and handed out 10 assists.  Sophomore Miah Manning (Putnam, CT) and Freshman Melanie Miela (Lebanon, CT) each had 10 points in the victory.

The Blue Jays were paced by 24 points from Freshman guard Illaria Schiano (Wallingford, CT).  Junior forward Gina Morales (Newington, CT) had a game-high 12 rebounds.

Mitchell will be in action again Saturday December 8th at home against Nichols College with tip-off at 12:00 PM.  St. Joseph will play tomorrow December 6th at Elms College for a 6:00 PM start.
