GRAHAM LEADS MITCHELL WOMEN TO FIRST AD3I WIN ON SENIOR DAY

New London, CT- Mitchell College Women's Basketball took the opportunity to honor graduating senior Julie Graham (Waterbury, CT) at Saturday afternoon's basketball match up with fellow Association of Division III Independent (AD3I) rival and future New England Collegiate College (NECC) member Newbury College. Graham returned the love by leading Mitchell to their first AD3I win of the season and third overall. The Pequots defeated the Nighthawks 86-55.  Newbury leaves New London with a 2-16 record. 

Graham turned in a double-double performance with her game high 21 points, an unbelievable 27 monster rebounds and 2 blocked shots.   Sophomore guard Jen Iglesias (Waterbury, CT) finished with 18 points and 7 assists.  Sophomore Miah Manning (Putnam, CT) also scored 18, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 3 assists in the victory.  Freshman Kailee Hyde (Derby, CT) finished with a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.  Freshman Marjorie Oliveira (Waterbury, CT) also added 10 points. 

Leading scorer for the Nighthawks was junior guard Katelyn Mark (Quincy, MA).  Mark finished with 14 points, 2 assists and 7 rebounds.  Freshman Catherine Cullen (Beverly, MA) ended with 12 points, 5 assists and 9 rebounds. Sophomore Rashawna Wynn (Baltimore, MD) scored 12 points for Newbury.

Mitchell will host Rhode Island College Wednesday, February 6th for a 7:00 PM tip-off.  Newbury will host Saint Joseph's College (CT) on Monday, February 4th.  Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
