Iglesias Named NECC Player of the Week

 ATTLEBORO, MASS. - Mitchell College junior guard Jen Iglesias (Waterbury, Conn.) guided her team to the #1 seed in the NECC Women's Basketball tournament with a phenomenal final 4-0 week of action.  Iglesias started the week with a team-high 29 points in a 67-52 win over Coast Guard in non-conference action.  Later in the week, the Iglesias-led Mariners defeated Bay Path 64-44 and Wheelock 65-35. In their final conference match-up against top ranked Lesley, Iglesias hammered down 20 points en-route to defeating Lesley finishing NECC play tied with a 14-2 conference record. For the four-game series, she shot 44 % (27-for-62) from the floor, 39% (11-for-28) from behind the arc and 66% (4-for-6) from the line.  The junior captain is averaging 17.5 points per contest to go along with her 131 assists and 35 steals.
