NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Mitchell College women's basketball team dropped an 84-66 final to the University of Saint Joseph on Thursday night at the Yarnall Athletic Center.

Saint Joseph's Brianna Ferraro finished with 22 points on 9-for-16 shooting to lead all scorers. Heather Framski recorded a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds while Mary Hyde and Devon Diliberto pitched in with 16 and 12 points, respectively.

Sophomore Amanda Garcia led Mitchell with 20 points and added eight rebounds and four steals. Three Mariners—senior Kate Mulloy, sophomore Savannah Boyle and freshman Caycee Williams—finished with double-doubles in the contest.

The game was tied at 11-11 at the 12:47 mark before the Blue Jays took the lead for good behind a 12-1 run. Both Framski and Ferraro each had a pair of buckets over the two-minute stretch while Mitchell turned the ball over five times and failed to attempt a shot from the field.

Saint Joseph led by as many as 18 points in the stanza and took a 47-30 lead into the locker room at the intermission. Framski had 16 points at the break to pace the Blue Jays, who shot 50 percent from the floor and went 5-for-11 from long range. Mitchell shot 37 percent and was led by 12 points from Williams.

Saint Joseph never let the lead dip below 16 points in the second half en route to its third win of the season. The Blue Jays finished with a 29-11 edge in points off turnovers and saw their bench outscore Mitchell's by a 17-2 margin.

Framski had three blocks and three steals to go with her double-double. Hyde and Ferraro each handed out five assists and added three steals.

Williams posted season highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds to notch her first career double-double. Boyle also notched her first double-double with 16 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, and Mulloy chipped in with 10 points, 10 boards and a game-high six assists.

Mitchell (0-3 overall) will next play at Connecticut College on Sunday, December 1 at 2 p.m.
