BROOKLINE, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's basketball team cruised to a 61-43 win over Newbury College on Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference action at Hellenic College.

Senior Kate Mulloy netted a game-high 23 points and added nine rebounds and three assists to pace the Mariners (14-8 overall, 14-2 NECC). Freshmen Jessica Shepherd and Caycee Williams also scored in double figures with 15 and 11 points, respectively, and the latter grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds to post a double-double.

The Mariners scored the first six points of the contest and led from start to finish.
