WBB Earns #3 Seed, Will Host Bay Path on Tuesday

ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's basketball team will be the third seed in the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference Championship and will host a first round game against Bay Path College on Tuesday, February 25.

Following its third consecutive perfect regular season, Regis College earned the top seed. The Pride (21-4 overall, 18-0 NECC) earned a first-round bye and will host the semifinals and finals begining Friday, February 28.

Elms College (16-9, 15-3 NECC) earned the second seed and will play Wheelock (6-19, 5-13 NECC) in a first round game on Tuesday.

Mitchell (15-9, 15-3 NECC) will host sixth-seeded Bay Path College (8-17, 7-11 NECC) in a first round game on Tuesday. The winner will advance to play a semifinal contest at Regis on Friday.

Fifth-seeded Daniel Webster College (9-9, 11-14 NECC) will travel to fourth-seeded Becker College (10-15, 10-8 NECC) for a first round match-up on Tuesday. The winner will meet top seed Regis on Friday in a semifinal game.

The top seven teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

First round games will be played on Tuesday, February 25 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals held at Regis on Friday, February 28. Semifinal winners will play Saturday, March 1 at Regis.
