WBB's Wiley Repeats as NECC Rookie of the Week

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – For the second straight week, Mitchell College freshman Amina Wiley was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

Wiley averaged team highs of 19.7 points and 11.7 rebounds per game as the Mariners went 3-0 in league play last week. She finished with double-doubles in all three contests, beginning with a 24-point, 13-rebound effort against Elms College in which she also recorded three steals. At Lesley University she finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and she wrapped the week with 16 points, 12 rebounds and five steals against Southern Vermont College. Wiley also shot 62 percent from the floor over the three games.

Wiley has played in 12 games and made 11 starts this season and is averaging team highs of 15.3 points and 10.2 rebound per game. She currently ranks fourth in the NECC in rebounding and sixth in scoring.

Mitchell (8-5 overall) is the lone unbeaten in NECC play at 7-0, the program's best start in school history. The Mariners will next host Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday, January 15 at 6 p.m.
