WBB's Wiley Nabs Fourth NECC Rookie of the Week Nod

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – For the fourth straight week, Mitchell College freshman Amina Wiley was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

Wiley averaged team highs of 19.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game last week for the Mariners. She finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a NECC showdown against New England College. She then recorded a double-double of 21 points and a season-high 18 boards in a non-conference contest against Western Connecticut State University.

Wiley has played in 17 games and made 16 starts this season and is averaging team highs of 16.2 points and 10.9 rebound per game. She currently ranks third in the NECC in rebounding and fifth in scoring.

Mitchell (10-8 overall, 9-2 NECC) will next play at Newbury College on Tuesday, January 29 at 7 p.m.
