Wiley Tabbed NECC Player of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College sophomore Amina Wiley was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of women's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

Wiley averaged a team-high 25.0 points and 24.5 rebounds per game last week as the Mariners went 2-0 in non-conference road games. She posted a career-high 30 points to go with 17 boards in a two-point victory at Lasell College. She then put up 20 points and a career-best 32 rebounds in a 12-point win at Anna Maria College. The 32 rebounds, in addition to breaking the school record, are the most in a single NCAA game this season at any level (DI, II or III).

Wiley is the first Mitchell player to earn NECC player of the week honors since January 2016. Through seven games she leads the NECC in both scoring (19.4 ppg) and rebounding (16.0 rpg) and has recorded six double-doubles.

Mitchell (4-3 overall) has won its last three games and will next host Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday, December 10 at 5 p.m.
