Wiley Tabbed NECC Player of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College sophomore Amina Wiley was named NECC Player of the Week for the sport of women's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday morning. 

Wiley averaged team highs of 19.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game last week as the Mariners went 2-1 to wrap up the regular season. She recorded double-doubles in all three games, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds in wins over both Dean College and Becker College. She also had 22 points and 13 rebounds in the regular season finale at New England College. Wiley shot 63 percent from the floor for the week and averaged 30.0 minutes per contest.

Wiley earned the honor for the fourth time this season (Jan. 13, Jan. 6, Dec. 9). Through 25 games she leads the Mariners in scoring (16.3 ppg) and rebounding (12.5 rpg) and has recorded 16 double-doubles. She also ranks second in the NECC in rebounding and sixth in scoring.  

Mitchell (15-10 overall, 10-4 NECC) has earned the third seed in the 2020 NECC Championship and will host sixth-seeded Elms College in the first round on Tuesday, February 25 at 7 p.m.
