Women's LAX Falls at Regis


WESTON, Mass. – Eleven different players registered a goal as the Regis College women's lacrosse team defeated Mitchell College, 19-4, on Thursday night in New England Collegiate Conference action.

The Pride improved to 10-5 overall and 6-0 in the NECC while Mitchell dropped to 0-10 and 0-6 in league games.

The Pride took a 13-0 lead into the half and never looked back as they added six goals in the second period. Mitchell showed some fight in the second half as Amanda Rowan netted a pair of goals, with Deborah Lee and Tiana Fillmore adding the other tallies.

Sam Salamone led the Pride attack with four goals and an assist, with Grace Politis adding three goals and two assists for five points of her own. Nicole Roche added a hat trick and an assist, while Katie Haidemenos scored twice and had an assist. Julia Jones, Arianna Woodley, Sierra Luce, Mary Roma, Danielle Aguinaldo, Ashley Ryan and Linsay Bumila added the other goals for Regis.

Defensively, Emma Decker picked up her 10th win of the year while making three saves. Politis added five ground balls, three draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. Mary Roma added three ground balls while Meghan Stanton also had a pair of caused turnovers.

For Mitchell, Taylor Dansereau made seven stops in net in the setback. Rowan and Samantha Ryan had two draw controls apiece, with Ryan leading the defense with four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.

Mitchell closes out the regular season at Daniel Webster College on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m.
