FRANKLIN, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's lacrosse team picked up a 12-11 victory in overtime at Dean College on Tuesday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference action at Grant Field.

Hannah Corrigan saw her third goal of the game sneak over the goal line just 22 seconds into extra time. With the win the Mariners improved to 4-7 overall (3-3 NECC) and secured a spot in next week's NECC Championship.

In a contest that saw six lead changes and five ties, Dean found itself trailing 10-8 after Francesca Pinard buried a free-position shot with exactly 18 minutes left to play.

The Bulldogs mounted a rally beginning with a goal from Lauryn Wilks. Then, with less than five minutes to play, Shania Springer notched her second of the afternoon to tie the score.

Dean moved in front when Makayla Fisher made an end-to-end sprint and buried the go-ahead goal with 4:34 left to play.

Mitchell evened the score with 1:18 to go when Lindsey Fairbank registered her game-high fifth marker of the afternoon. The Bulldogs then had an opportunity to retake the lead when Wilks had a free-position shot with 11 seconds left, but her attempt sailed just wide and resulted in overtime.

The Bulldogs led 6-5 at halftime, but the combination of Fairbank and Pinard had Mitchell off and running to start the second half. The duo scored four straight goals to give the Mariners a 9-6 advantage.

Mitchell got all of its scoring from Fairbank (five), Corrigan (three) and Pinard (four). Pinard also collected a game-high 12 draw controls. Goalie Gillian MacLellan finished with 17 saves in the victory.

Mitchell will wrap up regular season play at home against Southern Vermont College on Saturday, April 28 at noon. The Bulldogs finish the season with a road trip to Bay Path University on Saturday.
