Women’s Lacrosse Tripped Up by USJ

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Reagan Bucscetto tallied five goals and two assists for the University of Saint Joseph women's lacrosse team on Wednesday afternoon, powering the Blue Jays past Mitchell College 23-0 in a GNAC tilt in New London.

Buscetto potted two goals within the first minute of play and the Blue Jays were off and running, building a 13-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, and 17-0 advantage at halftime. USJ added five more goals in the third frame, before capping the scoring with one final goal in the fourth stanza.

Buscetto finished with five goals and two assists, while Anna LeGault netted three goals and four assists for the Blue Jays.

Senior Hannah Gomes (North Stonington, Conn.) made seven saves in goal for Mitchell, while registering all 60 minutes in the cage.

Colleen Stringer and Ariel DeSanti split time in goal for the Blue Jays, each registering a clean sheet.

The Mariners (0-4, 0-3 GNAC) jump right back into conference play at home on Saturday, March 30th, against Johnson & Wales University. The Blue Jays (5-3, 4-0 GNAC) will look to stay undefeated in conference play when they travel for a game at Albertus Magnus on Saturday, March 30th
