Mitchell Lands 15 on NECC Fall Academic All-Conference Team


ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 146 student-athletes, including 15 from Mitchell College, have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference Team for the fall 2010 semester, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. 

The NECC members include Bay Path College (Longmeadow, Mass.), Becker College (Leicester, Mass.), Daniel Webster College (Nashua, N.H.), Elms College (Chicopee, Mass.), Lesley University (Cambridge, Mass.), Mitchell College (New London, Conn.), Newbury College (Brookline, Mass.), Southern Vermont College (Bennington, Vt.) and Wheelock College (Boston, Mass.). Babson College (Babson, Park, Mass.) and Springfield College (Springfield, Mass.) are associate members in the sport of men's golf.

To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's cross country, field hockey, golf, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball were eligible for the fall NECC Academic All-Conference.

Representing the Mariners were: Jennie Austin (women's volleyball), Steven Barnett (men's soccer), Jen Bordonaro (women's volleyball), Josh Charles (men's cross country), Dustin Huguenin (men's soccer), Kailee Hyde (women's cross country), Anna Irons (women's soccer), Morgan Lindsay (women's soccer), Tad Maynard (men's golf), Ricardo Mclean (men's socccer), Shannen Pelletier (women's soccer), John Pescheta (men's golf), Kelly Ryan (women's volleyball), Brittany Smyth (women's cross country) and Rebecca Tabak (women's soccer).
