WSoccer Picks Up First Win at Daniel Webster


NASHUA, N.H. – The Mitchell College women's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season on Saturday by a 4-0 final in its New England Collegiate Conference opener at Daniel Webster College. 

Sophomore Katie McBride notched two goals in her season debut and classmates Taylor Silva and Alexandra Mahar added single scores. Mitchell improved to 1-4 overall (1-0 NECC) while DWC remained winless at 0-7 overall (0-1 NECC).
 
Kerry Hager racked up 15 saves for DWC in goal while senior Kaylee Woodford made one save for the Mariners.
 
McBride gave Mitchell the lead in the 41st minute off a Mahar pass and the Mariners led 1-0 at the half. McBride added her second in the 50th and Mitchell iced it with Silva and Mahar's goals coming with 3:10 and 1:33 remaining in the game.
 
Alexis Pavelock registered both Eagle shots in the contest.
 
Mitchell will next host UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m.
