Women's Soccer Blanked at Dean

FRANKLIN, Mass. -- New England Collegiate Conference newcomer Dean College came away with a 2-0 victory over Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon at Dale Lippert Field.

The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season and improved to 1-2-0 in NECC play. The Mariners dropped to 1-6-0 overall and 0-2-0 in league action.

After nearly 60 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Bulldogs broke through on a header from Alison Nelson that was assisted by McKenna Gill. Dean then added some insurance with nine minutes remaining when Emma Morrison drilled a shot from the outside that trickled into the bottom corner of the goal.

Nelson's goal was her team-leading third of the season. Morrison's goal was her second of the campaign, to add to one assist. Gill's assist was her first point of 2017.

Macy Parisee picked up the win in goal, making 11 saves to give her seven straight starts with double-digit stops. Mitchell's Jordan Lohneiss made a season-high 16 saves for the Mariners in the losing effort.

Mitchell will next play at Elms College on Saturday, October 7 at 1:30 p.m.
