Women's Soccer Wins In OT at Wheelock

BOSTON - The Mitchell College women's soccer team wrapped up the 2017 season with a 2-1 overtime victory at Wheelock College on Wednesday night in New England Collegiate Conference action at Winsor Field.

Jacquelyn White netted the game-winning goal with 17 seconds remaining in the first overtime to send the Mariners into the offseason on a positive note. The goal, her first of the season, came off a feed from Tiana Edwards.

Mitchell struck first in regulation as Lindsey Fairbank notched her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 43rd minute. The Mariners carried the 1-0 advantage into the break but saw Wheelock equalize in the opening minutes of the second half. Rachel Facey scored on an unassisted effort in the 54th minute to knot the score at 1-1, and neither team found the back of the net the remainder of regulation.

Jordan Lohneiss finished with four saves in goal to lead the Mariners, who finished the season with an overall record of 2-10-1 (1-6-1 NECC).
