Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 to Thomas

GORHAM, Maine -- The Mitchell College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Thomas College (ME) on Saturday afternoon in the second day of play at the Husky Classic at Hannaford Field.

After a scoreless first half, Thomas grabbed the lead in the 52nd minute off the foot of Katherine Hoving. The insurance goal was added by Julia Smith in the 75th minute off a feed from Maddy Noyes.

Lindsey Fairbank placed a pair of shots on goal for the Mariners, but both were smothered by keeper Kayla Gordon. Thomas finished the game with a 27-2 edge in total shots. Mitchell goalkeeper Drew Johndrow recorded 10 saves in the loss.

Mitchell (0-2-0 overall) returns home to host Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday, September 5 at 4 p.m.
