PAXTON, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback at Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at AMCAT Field.

After a scoreless first half, Anna Maria's Alexandra Rowland netted the game's lone goal in the opening minute of the second stanza. Goalkeeper Rachel Matloff made the margin stand, turning away five shots in the contest to record the clean sheet.

The Mariners nearly equalized with eight minutes remaining when Hannah Corrigan won a header in the box and Yasmine Mai Le tapped the ball home. However, the referee blew the whistle and called a handball to take the goal away.

Mitchell keeper Yordi Slover kept the visitors in the game, making a game-high 10 saves against 20 total shots. Lindsey Fairbank fueled the Mariners on offense with three shots on goal.

Mitchell (0-2-0 overall) will next host Fisher College on Wednesday, September 11 at 3:30 p.m.
