Women's Soccer Clipped at Bay Path

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Mitchell College dropped a 3-1 decision at Bay Path University on Wednesday afternoon in a New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer clash.

The game opened with 20 mintues of scoreless action, but the Wildcats seeized control with a pair of goals within a five-minute span. Alexandra Silva scored in the 25th minute and Carina Facchini tallied another in the 29th to provide the hosts with a 2-0 advantage.

Joanna Feliciano tacked on Bay Path's final goal in the second half to push the margin to three. Mitchell responded in the 76th minute as Lindsey Fairbank scored off an assist from Madison Nicynski, raising her team-leading goal total to 11 on the year. Fairbank has now scored a goal in each of her last five games. 

Bay Path goalkeeper Caitlyn Esposito earned the win with four saves. Mitchell keeper Yordi Slover made her return to the pitch after missing three games and tied a season high with 11 saves.

Mitchell (4-8-0 overall, 0-3-0 NECC) will next play at Elms College on Saturday, October 19 at 5 p.m.
